Race Report
Summary: CALM All Porsche Trophy – Round 1, Donington National (21 April 2025)
The CALM All Porsche Trophy kicked off its 2025 season at Donington Park National Circuit on Easter Monday with a record-breaking grid of 38 cars — the strongest entry in series history. A wet qualifying session welcomed 15 newcomers and showcased a growing variety in the field, with a mix of front-engined cars, 911s, Boxsters, and Caymans.
Qualifying saw Warren Allen claim pole in his SP1 Cayman, closely followed by Grant Jackson and Paul Simpson. Notably, SP3 featured a historic first as newcomer Nick Rinylo put his 911SC on class pole — the first time a 911 has topped SP3 ahead of the usual 968s and 944s. SP4 saw Chris Valentine and David Hornsey secure class pole in their 924.
Among the standout performances, Kenn van Hauen earned praise for a strong showing in his beautifully prepared Invitation class 911, qualifying comfortably in the top half of the field for the first time — a clear sign of growing confidence and control behind the wheel.
In a rain-soaked race, Warren Allen dominated from start to finish, taking a commanding victory by over a minute. The battle for second provided much of the entertainment, with fierce mid-pack duels featuring Jackson, Simpson, McHugh, Bates, and Brewer.
Overall, Round 1 delivered an exciting and competitive start to the season — with impressive debuts, dramatic class battles, and emerging talent making their mark.
